Atheism

“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.” – Stephen Roberts

This is too difficult for me. Help.

Since one of the meanings of atheism means the disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings, I guess that makes us all atheists in some way if we're not free-thinkers?

And I also think that some people get upset to hear abt others criticising their religion or giving reasons why they do not believe but they forget that to believe in something, or at least, a monotheistic religion, they're also automatically giving up a might-have-been belief in other religions.

I think ultimately what the quote is trying to say is that we're really all more similar than we think we are or try to make ourselves to be, atheists or believers.

I could really feel my faith crumbling under that sentence. It's so true, and I can find not way to saw otherwise.

Brilliant.
