And Brazil gets it

  • So Brazil is beaten by France, just like what happened in the 1998 world cup. However, this time, Brazil is out of the world cup in the quarter finals. They beat England in the quarter finals in the last world cup but this year, both of them go home in this stage.
  • One thing to note about Brazil is their air of arrogance and pride. They go into every match thinking that they will win. And of coz they win many times. They step onto the pitch with the "Its gonna be another win" look, and they step off it after they won with a "You shouldn't even have tried" look. This is also what I see when Brazil wins Ghana.
  • Brazil play with alot of style, sometimes too much style. When stylistic moves are not needed, Brazilian players still show it. They show off their moves even when a simple flick of the ball is needed. Don't get me wrong here. I am not saying that being stylish isn't good, but don't over do it. A great example to follow is Zidane. He plays with alot of style, but only when it is needed. When it is not needed, he just plays simple.
  • They are also too confident of themselves. Being confident is good, but just not too confident. You look at Brazil and you think of their attacking styles. Their defence is simply negligible. When Brazil attacks, you see almost the whole team pouring into the opponent's half. They are so confident of themselves that they think they can score with every attack they strike. No way.
  • Actually Brazil ain't that fantastic, only a few players are good. Ronaldo, Ronaldhino, Kaka, Adriano, Roberto Carlos. These 5 are probably all that Brazil has. Maybe younger ones like Ze Roberto and Robinho adds to their fire, but thats about it. You see the French defence locking down on these few players and Brazil cannot even budge. And one thing, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Emerson, these players are all getting old. Physically, they are losing out.
  • This is proven when Roberto Carlos got so worn out that he let Henry slip past him to score the winning goal.
  • Well, all this said, Brazil ain't that bad anyway. At least they are still better than Ghana, Japan, Australia and Croatia. They still play good football, and the 5 stars on their shirt proves it. But winning so many times sometimes causes complacency and pride to creep into their midst. Well, so we wonder if Brazil will continue to remain a 5-star team, we have 4 more years to wait and find out.
