Day Of The 'O'
The day of the 'O', thats what I call the day I get my 'O' Level results, and that day just happens to be coming soon. Haha, just a few more days before I know how I did in this major exam which I attempted months ago. What a big part of my life it is huh. Recently people have been asking me, "Hey Meng Hui, you are getting your 'O' Level reseults soon right? How do you feel? Nervous?" My straight reply is usually "Ya, kinda nervous." Actually I am. In the past few months when I just finished the papers, I don't feel nervous or edgy at all. I just feel all the joy and freedom. Holidays that last for more than 3 months is something I had not experienced in my last 10 years of schooling, and I am excluding the kindergarten days (I did not attend nursery as my mother sent me to kindergarten straight when I was just 4, making me spend 3 years in kindergarten) So I was really happy and didn't think about the results. But now, I can feel the nervousness set in. When I am alone thinking, I would think "What if the results turn out so bad that I simply can't get into polytechnic or junior college at all?" What if this and what if that. Many what ifs came bombarding my little mind. But, actually, whats there to be nervous about? Even if I am nervous, what can I do about this result of mine, which have already been printed and is now on its way from Cambridge to Singapore, or is already in Singapore. Well, being nervous sure won't change a single thing on that paper. But I don't just quit being nervous and stop there. I pray to my God. You know, praying is really powerful. I tell my God that please, let my result be this good. I may not be able to do a thing to change anything on that paper, but God can. I don't know how He is going to do it, but I just have to put my trust in Him. My God can do everything. And if my results ain't so good, it does not mean that God didn't hear me, it just means that God has something else planned for me, and I am gonna follow it.

Simply Simple Love
Today I plug into my mp3 and this song came from the earphones, "Jian Dan Ai ("Simple Love" from my Chinese-English translation). Then this thought popped in my mind, "Can love ever be simple at all?" As the lyrics go "Hold your hands and never let go...", can that ever be possible? "Love that is innocent with no sorrows", will it ever be? I have no idea. According to my experience, it has never happened. But is it ever going to be possible, at all? Yes and no, according what you believe. Well, the love basically depends on both parties. If both parties say yes to simple love, then yes, simple love is possible. However, take note that BOTH parties have to say yes, if one says no, then forget it. Its a couple effort, one person can't change things. Well, you may say, "It is so simple to have simple love." Er, not so easy. We are always very complicated, we think things in a very complicated way. I personally have no idea why, maybe its because of the way we were all brought up. In this very complicated environment that made our minds complicated. You know, many a times, love can start off simply, very innocently. But for some reason, it will turn complicated. Some people call it taking an extra step. Well, I don't know what you call it, but this extra step is surely a dangerous one. When things get too complicated, they simply say that they are pressurized by the relationship. Then this pressure will break the relationship (pressure always break things). Well, it sure looks simple, so simple to lose the love. Why do people take this extra step and lose their innocent and simple love, you may ask? Well, because people around them are all caught in complicated love, people in the movies, people they know etc. This problem may seem like a big and complicated problem, but it actually very simple to solve. The solution is simply that both parties simply believe and hold on to this simple love.

Red Packets, Roses, Horror, Woman And More Horror
Yesterday which was Valentine's Day, was such an eventful day that I felt that I had to talk about it. It has got nothing to do with a valentine as I never had one. Well, my buddies and I were supposed to meet at 11 and go to Rebecca, my other buddy's house. However, Rebecca decided that she didn't want us to go her house so early, therefore the whole thing was pushed to 3pm, and in the process, a trip to the zoo which was planned earlier was cancelled. So the gang of Kent, Ben, Huan Jian and Me were scheduled to be meet at 3 at the platform of the MRT station, then take the MRT to Becca's house. So we met up and were about to go and take the train when Becca said she was in CCK and we were to go down and out of the station to meet her, 60 cents wasted. Well, doesn't matter. So we met and ate, then went to her house. Miss Rebecca actually got cut by a glass on a road while we were on our way, how unfortunate. But it doesn't matter, as I got my "everything that is needed packed in one" bag with me, so we did a little first aid on her toe and took out the glass piece. And then we just stayed at her house and did some vandalism on the wall and got some red packets. After that, Miss Becca gave us roses! My goodness. I was shocked for a split second but recovered after that. We didn't prepare anything for her, so immediately, a thought popped up in all of our minds, no words were spoken, we had meeting using our minds only. So we went out and were supposed to have dinner at Causeway Point, but it turned out to be a movie trip instead. I was captured by an indian lady who wanted me to buy bear for $20, but Becca rescued me. Then they went to buy tickets while I excused myself to the toilet, to buy some roses. Then we gave her the flowers and Becca bought us all chips. Well, so I ate chips and watched this supposed-to-be-horror film. The film turned out quite lame. Talking about a stupid mirror which would kill people or something. I would have watched other films if I had a choice. And I had to listen to some weird language for about 2 hours. Kent acted like he was scared but I knew he was not. The film could scare nobody, it was total lameness and is total piece of crap. My "everything needed packed in one" bag came into use again as there was a jacket for Miss Rebecca, who had a little problem with low temperatures. Then we went out and chatted at the MRT station. It was normal chat untill I realised weird expressions on Kent's and Ben's faces. Then everyone in the group had weird expressions and the whole group fell silent. I realised something was amiss and they were all staring at me. So I just turned back and there was this lady standing behind me who looked like she walked out of the film I just watched, and she was staring blankly into the air. So I thought she needed some help and said "I'm sorry?" She just held her handphone and ignored me. After a few seconds, she turned and walked off. I was wondering if she even saw us or heard me or not. Well, after that, we took the last train home and that was it. Oh ya, Huan Jian told me he saw the same woman again today at Bukit Timah, what a coincidence... or is it?

Festives All In One
Today is Valentine's Day, and also the 6th day of the Lunar New Year. So how have you spent your new year? I have visited many of my relatives and I believe you have too. And ya, thats all I have done this new year. Yet is there a deeper meaning to this? Actually there is. This time round, I actually realised that I did not know my relatives very well. When my family went around and visited some people and some people visited us, I realised that I did not even know some of their names or how they have been 'linked' to me. Worse still, I did not even know that I had this relative! Its also interesting to realise that many of this people whom I met and have given us such hospitality when we visited them, are people whom I actually meet only once a year! Interesting. Its not like I know them very well you know. Well, red packets isn't everything about the Lunar New Year, sometimes the important things are to meet your relatives and find out who your relatives actually are! Haha. And then its Valentine's Day. How have you spent your Valentine's Day then? Did you have a valentine? If not, do not worry, I don't have one too. Well, don't start to panic and look around for a partner, thats because you don't need a valentine to spend your Valentine's Day. Spend it with your friends, it doesn't matter. And to the rest who actually have a valentine, don't just treat your partner nice today, treat him or her as nice everyday. Valentine's Day isn't all there is in a relationship. Got it? Haha. So I'll just wish everybody a very happy and successful Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day.

Making Mistakes
Everybody makes mistakes. I do. And I suppose you and your friends and your parents and everybody else do as well. Its part of life. Nobody knows how to do everything right when they are born. Everyone is bound to make a mistake. Nobody is perfect. However, making mistake isn't too much of a problem as long as we learn from it. Some dude named John Powell once said "The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing." So true, its extremely important to learn from your mistake so that you won't commit it again. Seems alright? Well, there is problem. We don't expect ourselves to make mistakes sometimes. Even when we know clearly that we are not perfect, we believe that we are pretty close to perfect. Thats a problem. So when the time comes when we really make a mistake, we feel so bad and all. Thats when pride comes in. We get too proud to admit our mistake, and how are we going to learn from our mistakes which we don't even admit? We simply can't. What happens when we don't admit our mistakes is that we find excuses to cover so that it looks like it ain't our fault. In the end, we don't learn anything from our mistake, we just learn how to get better at finding excuses. Therefore, we should humble ourselves, and admit the mistake and learn from it. Face the consequences if necessary. After that, we must forgive ourselves, just like God has forgiven us, then move on. It ain't easy, but I'm sure it ain't a problem for all of us.

My Belief
If you guys do not already know, I am a christian. Today, I am going to talk a little about my beliefs. First off, I must make it clear that I am not against any religion nor anyone in other religion, I am just talking about my beliefs. So if you guys feel uncomfortable with this religion topic, I suggest you don't read on, I don't want to have conflicting comments on religions.(Any comments I don't seem fit will not be entertained) You know, as a christian, I don't get to see my God. But thats not because my God don't exist, thats because He is too great to be seen. Well, so how? Thats when faith come into play. Living by faith by not by sight. You don't have to see something to believe in something. Its like you can't see your brain but you believe that you have a brain right? Well, there are wooden crosses with Jesus on it, but thats not I worship. I don't worship things made of wood or stone, I worship a true and living God. I don't worship fat figurines made of stone and covered in gold or wooden statues with beard on them. No no, the God I worship is one that is living, can talk, can perform miracles, can basically do everything. I believe that to ask God to do something, I will need to pray. I don't believe that polluting the air by burning paper in a tin or littering the grounds by throwing paper all over the place or creating alot of smoke by burning a stick will get me any blessings. No no again. I believe that the truth is in the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God, it is consistent and it never lies, meaning that everything written in it will happen. I don't believe in some fengshui book that is written by some person who looks at water and wind or mountains and determines the fate of somebody. These fengshui books are the words of man, changes every now and then, and are not accurate, thats why you have so many fengshui people giving different opinions. Well, that should be enough huh. Once again I must say that I am not discriminating against any religion nor am I insulting anyone in any religion. This is my belief, and if you want to join in my belief, you can always come and find me.

Work Day No.2
Today is my 2nd work day. Its really very boring to give out flyers. Each time I work, I'll have to give out thousands of flyers, see thousands of faces. Sometimes people gives very stuck up faces, but it doesn't matter. I also get to see some of my friends when I give out flyers, paused work for a little chat, haha. That always brighten the work life. Well, today's work place was Buona Vista, some place where theres many many working adults on their way to work, basically because theres a technopreneur park over there. Well, so I got to the station and had no idea where to give out the flyers, so I just followed the crowd. Its interesting, most of the people walk the same way: over a bridge and to a bus stop. So I just set up my "stall" at the bridge, where many people will pass me by. Bingo, the crowd was fantastic. There was so many people! And they come in batches after batches according to the time of the MRT train arrival. So I just give out and give out and give out. Then its done. Quite simple. Well today is my last day doing this kind of thing. Really left me with some experiences. Well, I also learnt somethings about giving out flyers. First of all, its always good to smile at all times, so others will take your flyer. Then its really important to have quick hands as when a person takes the flyer, it becomes a sort of a chain reaction, the rest behind will take as well. If you aren't quick enough, you might just break the chain and you can't give out. Also, you must really have a sharp vision. To pick out a good spot where theres many people and also to choose people who would take your flyer. Then, your job of giving out flyers would be so much easier. And its always very very good to pray before going into the job. It helps alot. So just 2 days of work, 6 hours of flyers distribution and I am done, $30 in my pocket.

Work Work Work
Today, 27th January 2005, I worked for the 1st time in my whole life. Not that I never work before, but its just that this time I am working for money. Well, started off the work with waking up at 6am, something that I had not done for the past 2 months or so. So it feels very tiring and all... then the friend whom I am suppose to meet for work was late for about 45 minutes... good training for my patience, something that is needed for this job. Oh ya, I am giving out leaflets. What a job... -_-" At first I thought it was an extremely boring job, but as I continued on giving out the leaflets, I discovered the "fun" part to this job. Haha, first of all, I get to see many people, with different faces, sizes, colour, and expressions. Thats interesting. Some people look the same, are extremely fat, gives weird expressions. Well, you never know untill you really experience it. Then throughout the time I was giving out leaflets, I discovered a few interesting things. About 98% of indians will take the leaflets, 2% are those whose hands are full or didn't see me. 50% of chinese will take the leaflets, another 50% simply wave no and give me a stuck up face, don't care about me, hands are full, simply walk away pretending they didn't see me. 40% of malays will take the leaflets, and most of this 40% are malay women who wear tudung. The 60% left simply walk off pretending they didn't see me. Only 10% of caucasians will take the leaflets, the other 90% will simply wave no or didn't see me. Haha, in this job, I also get to see many things. Say while I was giving out the leaflets in Choa Chu Kang, there was this woman selling fried popiah near the MRT station. She was a vendor with no license, so if police come, she's in trouble. So I was giving out leaflets near her, and this was what happened. 7:50:30, woman was sitting down shouting "popiah popiah popiah!!!" 7:50:31, woman holding on to chair and pot running away. If you understood the above, you would discover that it took only 1 second for her to run away. If I had blinked or turn around at that time, I would have thought that she was abducted by aliens. Oh ya, that woman came back and continued selling popiah after half an hour, and seems as if nothing had happened at all. Haha, and I did pretty well too, finished the leaflets pretty fast. Haha, 1st day work experience...

Tongue, Probably The Most Cunning Weapon Ever
What do you use a tongue for? Tasting, talking, getting food stuck between your teeth out, making monkey faces... on and on. The tongue is definitely full of uses. But that doesn't necessarily means its full of good uses. It can be used wrongly too. How? By talking bad. When this happens, the tongue becomes a very poisonous thing. It starts to wagger about insulting people. Thats bad. I mean, what do people get in insulting other people? I don't suppose they get anything. And we must respect other people. Insulting is not respect, definitely. The feeling of being insulted is really terrible. Sometimes its worse when you did not even do a thing then you got insulted. Sounds illogical? Some people do that. No idea why. And some even insult people in their backs, total cowards. Well, I've been taught since I was a very young kid to control my tongue and not insult people or anything, although sometimes I slip, its etched very deeply in my mind. Some people find pride in insulting people, consider it as a skill... well, it is a skill, but er... never mind, leave you to figure that out. I'm not saying you cannot jokingly insult somebody. Its totally fine by me. But take note that there is always a limit for jokes and know your limit. Some people cannot take jokes then just leave them be, don't further agitate them. Another bad thing about this poisonous tongue is the usage of profanities. Profanities means vulgarities. Its bad. Not nice to hear it. I suppose everyone was taught since young not to scold such things. But its very commonly heard. Gives me the image that the person is very unruly. And again, some people find it a sort of pride to scold profanities... huh... -_-" I don't have to talk much about profanities, everyone knows its bad. Then some people gossip too. Gossiping is not good as well. You know, commenting about other people with other people... and its bad comments mind you. No good. Ok, some people might ask me why all the things mentioned above aren't good? Well, if someone is to insult you, scold profanities at you, or gossip about you, would you feel good? I don't need to know the answer. So I suppose its always good to learn to control your tongue and not let it wagger too much untill it becomes a poisonous thing.

To Win Or To Lose
What does winning means to you? This word can be used in many occasions. To win a competition, a fight, a war. All of us know that to win is to beat the guy and then you are declared the winner. Yet, sometimes when we lose, we win as well. And when we win, we lose as well. Let me explain with a little story. Once there were 2 brothers who practised martial arts under the same master. The younger brother was a ruthless person who would go all out to win a fight, while the older brother is merciful. Because of that, the younger one won many competitions while the older one did not. In that way, people thought the younger brother was stronger. However, the younger brother ruthlessness injured many people and the elder one was merciful, and WON many friends. One day, the 2 brothers fought in a competition. Both were equally skilled. Then there was this point when the elder brother could win the match by punching him and injure him, but he showed mercy. The younger one took the opportunity and defeated his brother. Then the younger brother realised that having being showed mercy from injury is just so wonderful and stopped being ruthless. So you get the story? Hope you do. The ultimate winner is the elder brother I think. You don't have to win a match to win something. Lets talk about a war, real fights between friends. So what if we win these? Lives will be LOST, friends will be LOST even if we should win. Understand? Hope you guys do. So I always believe that we should never get into fights or be hardheaded. Come on, just forgive. Whats the point of taking revenge and all? Will it help to solve the problem? It won't. It will only create another problem. Thats why I firmly believe that we should all have a forgiving heart. Some people think they might lose face because they are seen to have lost in a quarrel. But no, no one wins in a quarrel. Both party loses a friend. No one wins anything. So don't let your pride get all over you. Learn to be forgiving for we have been forgiven many a times as well.

Cigarette - The Stick Of Death
Haha, I believe that many people will very much understand what the title is saying. Yes, the cigarette is a stick of death. The most cunning weapon to take a person's life. But why is it that a simple little stick that measures just a few centimetres has the ability to kill somebody? Well, the answer is very simple, its because this stick ain't simple at all. Get what I mean? Many people might be wondering in their minds "Why are you talking about smoking? Do you smoke?" I thought of this topic when I was watching this show and there was this guy smoking and this topic struck me. And I don't and won't smoke. Ok, back to topic. Why did I say that this stick ain't simple? Well, it is made of tabacco, looks harmless, then when you put fire at its tip, it starts to produce smoke that is capable of slowly killing you with all its carbon monoxide and other toxics that can cause diseases such as lung cancer, emphysemea, bronchitis and other other deadly diseases. Does that seem complicated enough? And whats worse, the cigeratte don't just harm you physically, it destroys you mentally, financially, and socially. In simple words, it destroys your whole life. Why do I say that? Ok, first, you light your first stick and you get addicted to it and almost cannot live without it. Then this little bit of tobacco wrapped in paper costs you alot of money and you have to buy them everyday. And lastly, you are harming the health of the people around you when you smoke. Will they like it? They won't if they can think straight. So, let me put this whole thing a little more simpler, this stick is full of negativeness. Ok... I can almost hear some people rebutting saying "When you smoke, you are cool..." Pardon me???? That is the most stupid excuse I have ever heard in my whole life. You call having something that is smoldering by your mouth cool huh? How cool can you get, 100 degrees celcius? Great. So I hope you guys will understand that smoking is nothing but BAD. And next time if anyone offers you a cigarette, just tell them to save it for themselves, you don't want to die early, trust me. If your friend offers you a stick, they ain't your friends, they are just trying to kill you.

Something Light, Something Different
Well, I just took notice that I got comments claiming that my postings are sian... I suppose its time for a little change. Haha, I'm not very sure who is Angela Kwa though... but I suppose its best to make a change when someone post such a comment. My friend Huan Jian also gave the same comment, so I suppose that its really so... And well, Huiyu, I suppose a job as a journalist is one that interests me, haha. So I have went and looked at the blogs of many people and found out that their blogs are somewhat their online diary. Is that what a blog is? Sorry, I don't know. That word is not in the dictionary. And I don't suppose I want to turn my entire blog into a diary. So how do I continue this huh... some people might think that I do not have anything better to do, thats why I posted all this stuff, which to some people, looks like reports-_-" Well, yes, I really have nothing better to do. I have been staying at home for the past 2 months or so, going out only once in a while. This kind of boring life is really turning me crazy. And also, I sort of miss writing. And if I entirely stop contact with proper english, I am afraid that when I go into polytechnic, I won't be able to write properly again. So I just see this blog as an opportunity to kill my time and to write something. I am glad some people like my blog and I will change to satisfy those who don't. In a few months time I will going into a polytechnic, and my preferred course is Mass Comm. Quite an interesting course in my eyes, better than the engineering and science courses. It is quite hard to get into this course though, one needs a result of at least A2 for English in the O'Levels to get in. I tried my best in the O'Levels and can only pray that I will get this A2 and get into this course, and that no one will compete with me, haha. Hm, for something different, maybe I just sort of introduce myself. My real name is Don, born in 1988. Just finished O'Levels, I have alot of time to rest. Other than writing, I like cycling, swimming and basketball. Well, I am really not that into writing but I find that it helps me kill time. Haha. So I guess thats about it. I find today's post quite lame, but its always good to have something different right? Haha.

A Little Crush, A Little Love
Love is always on the lips of people nowadays. Oh this person don't love me, how can you treat me like that... blah blah, just what I always see. Some people on the MSN will always have nicks about love. And I hope you guys will know what kind of love I am talking about. Its the boy girl relationship love. Some people might say "Everybody knows you are talking about that." I just have to make sure. There are many different kinds of love, parents' love, friends love, and others others. But boy girl is the rather common one. Well, no one can escape love. It always finds a way to crawl into the heart of people. I myself is also affected by love. But how do you differentiate between a true love and just a crush? Many people mistakes crush for love. Then they fall into a wrong love. It always miserable to fall into a wrong love. They never work out. Whats worse is that the person gets commited to a love that should never have been there. I hope you guys get what I mean. How to differentiate between crush and love? Well, 1st, before you love somebody, you had better know the person well. Don't start loving someone whom you do not know well enough. Sometimes people are just acting, not showing their true self, so take some time to understand that person deeper. So, well, to answer the question, crush is to fall for somebody whom you do not know very well, love is to fall for someone whom you know very well and knows that you can be together happily. So thats the difference. Crush can be turned into love too. I'll teach you how. Go and be friends with the person 1st. Understand the person deeper. And when you know you truly love each other, then ok loh. Haha, but beware, some people might act just to get you. So if a guy or a girl whom you don't know comes and tell you that they like you, try to be friends 1st, then understand the person. A person who truly loves you will surely wait for you and be friends with you de. Then if all goes well, hope it goes well for you lohz. You know when some guys see a pretty girl, they act cool and all, trying to get the attention of the girl. Well, thats what you have to beware of. When they get you, they turn 180 degrees and becomes another person. So what I say is to know the person, be friends, and when you find you are suitable, then good loh. Don't go jumping into a relationship which you are not clear of. You never know whats at the bottom of a dark pit. So light the pit up and see whats at the bottom before you jump. Haha, hope you guys understand.

Bye Bye 2004. New Year,New Resolutions
As we step into the last day of the 365 days of 2004, I recall what happened in this year that is filled with both joy and grief. I realised how I have changed in the year and what events happen in this 365 days of my life. It started with me stepping into the life of a sec4 graduating class. Stress undoubtly started to come my way, but it didn't affect my carefree life. Love life were a part of the year as well with 2 relationships, both did not quite work out. Well, had quite alot of fun in 2004, and I also worked abit harder than I did in the past 3 years in face of the o'levels. My relationship with my friends also improved as well. Got to know many new friends too. Haha, my results also had a rather pleasant improvement, maybe due to the extra effort I put in. Then O'levels came and got myself all geared up and all, at the same time hoping that the papers will be easy and I will score well. And then a few events happened throughout the year. My birthday was not remembered by anyone, hehe, well, doesn't really matter. My friends made it up by celebrating my birthday with my buddy, Rebecca. Then, just when the year was coming to an end, 26th December, a real bad disaster struck. Earthquake measuring 8.9 on the richter scale causing tsunamis that by far, killed more than 80,000 people. And now, the year is closing, and facing all of us is the year 2005. What will happen in 2005? I don't know. It'll be a whole new lifestyle. I'll be entering polytechnic, no longer the school life which i have gotten so used to. I sure hope I can adapt to this kind of life. I'll be knowing so many new friends at the polytechnic, yet, I will still be with my favourite clique of friends whom have been with me for years. I sure hope that everything will go well in the next year. Maybe some resolutions for the next 365 days might help. And my resolution is...I sure want to do well for my studies in the next year. Make myself fitter. Have a even better relationship with all my friends. Be better at sports. Get new and better parts for my bicycle. Have alot more fun in the next year. Also, more opportunities to serve my God in the church. Most importantly, hope everything goes well for all my friends and me. So that makes my resolution. And I prepare myself to leap into the new year. So how are you going to spend your next 365 days? Everyone of us is given the same 365 days. You, me, anyone. We are all given 365 days, no more no less. But what are you going to do with it? Are you going to make it a fantastic year, such that when it ends, you will say, 'What a great year it is!' Or are you going to make a mess out of this 365 days and grief at the end. Its your 365 days, and its all up to you what you want to do with it. In the countdown, everyone is given just 10 seconds to say goodbye to the 365 days which we have all walked through. So make full use of this 10 seconds, and think back the year, any regrets in this year, dun regret again in the next.

Everyone Is Special, Thats What Makes Us Ordinary
I don't think theres a need to explain the title. It is just as it is. Indeed, I find this very true. Everyone on this planet Earth is special in their own little way. There is no one who is totally like you. Not even clones can be totally the same. Some people might look the same, but they don't think the same. Some people might think the same, but they don't look the same. In this way, we are all special. Yet, this is what makes us ordinary. Ordinary means to be the same as the majority. And in this case, this 'specialness' is what makes us the same as all other people who are special. Do you get what I mean? I sure hope you do because if you don't, then there is nothing I can do about it. Sometimes, some people think that they are so much special than other people that they feel that others are looking up to them. I find it strange. They feel as if they are some superstar or they have something that no other people have. I don't know how to explain it to you but its just that. Say for example when I sit on the MRT train, I look at the facial expression of the people around me. Sometimes, I get this look on some people's face as if everyone is below them and that they are the only ones who are 'standard'. Still, if you do not understand me, then I can just say sorry mama lo mo tata. As I type this post out, I feel as if I had spelled the word 'special' wrongly, but I had not. It seems so strange to me. Well, it doesn't matter. As I had just said, all of us are special in our little ways. I have a few friends who are very close to me. I realised that we are all special. Different in a nice way. And thats good. Thats how we form a diversity amoung our clique. Thats why I like my clique so much. There are some people, who actually spoils this 'specialness' in themselves by copying the attitude and personality of some people who is quite well-liked, in an attempt to make themselves as well-liked as that person. This really spoils the whole thing. By doing this, it does not make you special, it makes you a copy cat. Special means to be different from others, yet by doing this, the person is being the same as other people. I don't know, maybe it works for some people, maybe their speciality is to be a copycat, a ditto. So what I suggest is, just be yourself. Copying other people won't help. Surely there will be other people who will like your personality and wants to be your friend. So just wait. For me now, I am very happy being myself. My friends accept me for who I am, as I accept them for who they are. So just let yourself be yourself.

What Does The Future Hold For Me?
That question has hit my mind for quite a couple of times already. Seriously, I do not know what I will be like in the future. Sure, I have my goals and ambitions, everybody has them, but I just do not know what I will be like in the next few years. Will I look good, drive a car, have lots of money, a good career? I sure hope I do. But life don't always turn out the way you plan it to be. Ya, you can plan and then work hard to achieve your goals. Many people say that will work. But what if something crops up and your life and ambitions are all ruined just like that? Say a car accident. When I was in secondary 1, just stepped into secondary school, the same question struck my little brain: What will I be like when I leave this secondary school? Some thoughts came up, like being the top of school. Sadly, i didn't achieve that. But what I achieved was so much better and made me happier: Friends. Really good friends whom have brought me through the 4 years in secondary school. No doubt there have been quarrels between us, but it did not destroy nor weaken our relationship. Thus, that proves the saying that the best gift is the best friend. What does the future holds for you then? Some people do think about this. We can never anticipate what lies in the future. Looking at the path ahead, many roads can be seen. Some straight and some not. Sure, you can see where the roads lead to and how straight and easy to walk on it is. But you can never see when robbers, landslides, earthquakes or other undesirable things will come and force you to change the road of which you take. What are your ambitions of life? Once my friends and I sat down and we talked about this. Many people have many different ambitions. For me, I want to have a good career, a car, a house and a happy family. My friends want to do something for the animals, some want to invent something for the good of all mankind. Will we achieve our ambitions? I sure hope we will. Work hard for it, and the chances of achieving it will greatly increase. I look forward to all of us achieving our ambitions and when we do, still friends we are, and friends we will be.

A Tribute To The Victims Of The Tsunami
Giant waves crashing onto beaches, washing off cars and whatever there is that stood in its way. Roads were suddenly in flash floods and fishing boats were washed ashore. People rushing for their lives and racing to safety. Waves rushing into the groundfloor of buildings. This may seem like a scene from some movie which you have watched recently, but it was what happened on 26 December 2004, one day after the merry of the Christmas, an earthquake measuring 8.9 on the richter scale shook the seas off Indonesia. Yet, it was not this earthquake that caused destruction. Tsunamis, giants waves as high as 4 storeys, caused by the sudden jolt of this super quake, was the one that caused the ultimate destruction. "More than 10,000 people are feared dead or missing and millions displaced"(Straits Times). Places hit by the tsunami include Indonesia with over 4,200 dead, Malaysia with 42 dead, Thailand with over 300 dead, Myanmar with 10 dead, Bangladesh with 2 dead, India with about 2,400 dead, Maldives with 15 dead and Sri Lanka with 3,500 dead. I suppose such quakes are very rare as the last super quake was on 1960, measuring 9.5 on the richter scale. The worst thing is, it happened during the holiday season, at holiday hot spots. That is totally crazy if you think about it. And it makes me wonder, human may seem so strong with all their infrastructures, inventions, super structure, whatever they boast of.Yet, just one single shake and some waves caused all these destruction in just minutes. What can we as humans do when God decides to punish us humans? Sorry to say, nothing. We are created from God, we create things from the God's wisdom, and when God decides to punish us, we can do nothing. Human is just simply too small. Ya, we are the dominant race on this planet, but does it matter, we are still part of this planet, we are not all great. This brings me to another point. We shouldn't pollute our Earth. Come on, we are Earthlings, and we are destroying Earth, are we crazy? Who the hell would dirty their own house? This is the same logic. Earth is our home and we have better protect it. If there are other alien spieces outside of Earth, and saw what Earthlings do to their one and only planet, they would die laughing. Well, it also makes me feel happy and blessed that I am living in Singapore. Protected by the land masses that surround it, Singapore is very safe. I mean come on, the epicentre of the super quake is at Indonesia, so near our home Singapore! Yet, only a minority felt just a little tremor! When some guy told me that Singapore will not be hit by natural disaster, I did not quite fully understand why, but now I know the exact reason of how blessed I am to live in this little island of Singapore. Small it may be, but safe it definitely is.

Boredom Takes Its Toll
As the title suggest, it has on me. Life has been so boring since the holidays began. It was alright at 1st but i realised that the december holidays was getting a little too long, too boring. All my friends have went to work, yet i remained unemployed. I am cooped up all alone in my house. My bike lay motionless in my room. There is no one who would do something interesting with me. I felt like i was in a prison which i built myself in my own heart. Once in a while, i would go out with my friends to play computer games. But other than that, i will be facing the concrete walls of my home. The computer did not help at all. I played computer games and they could not satisfy my need for fun. I decided to do this sort of blogging thing to spend my time. So much i wanna write.
Sometimes people can really get SOOOO bored that they simply lose their mind. i feel that way. as if my brain is going to break down anytime soon. I dunno wad they call this. Its not depression. Its pure boredom. Thats one of the reason why people go to the Institute of Mental Health. They get so bored that they start to do things to amuse themselves. And in no time, they would be in a world of their own. They will lose their ability to think properly as they have tried so hard to amuse themselves. Then, they lose their mind and goes to IMH.
Somehow, i feel this is not such a bad thing. I say, if no experts said so, that the people in the IMH are supposedly the happiest people on Earth. We, normal as we call ourselves, are so concerned about what the world think of us. We are scared of being happy, scared of being ourselves, as we are afraid that people will think that we are mad. In fact, we are mad. We are so mad that we suppress ourselves from being happy, we make ourselves do things that we do not like to do. The people in the IMH, they do not even give a damn about wad others have to think about them. They do the things they like and they don't feel bad at all about it. They are happy, in their own world of happiness.
Some people might feel that i am crazy for saying all this. Then let it be. For it is what my heart really feels.
